I often think of this. I have to admit that learning about a certain artist's history does leave a bitter taste, and I find myself, while still impressed by their talent, unable to seek out their art as passionately. I don't exactly see it as a "meeting your idols" situation, as I recognize that they are human like everybody else and, therefore, flawed. Yet, I cannot shake that faint feeling of aversion.
