I was reading your story last night, but it got a little distracting at home with guests, kids, and pets, so I had to pause and save it for a time when I could really immerse myself. I’m on what you could call a soul-searching journey now, and this was such a rewarding read for me. I do think a soul is the imprint we leave on the world. We see its reflection, mirrored in the connections we make--with people, animals, places, even objects. This passage struck a cord.
I think our souls then get "diluted" when our desire to *own* outweighs the need to let go, we don't know how to love and appreciate unconditionally anymore.
