Very true. I recently found myself on the receiving end of a mass tagging "incident." Someone I barely knew must have noticed I was a friend of Medium and thought tagging me would be a good idea. My intuition was confirmed since almost all the people tagged were Medium friends... I kept getting tagged and felt guilty for ignoring it... Thankfully, they eventually stopped on their own. So yeah, I hold the sentiment that tagging should be sparse and meaningful. I think we should always set boundaries no matter the platform or occasion.
